Chavez Supermarket off of 880 on Tennyson in Hayward. Truly delicious taqueria + full plates of specials and big bowls of soups. Try the carnitas!

Ray's Sushi, 'A' Street at Hesperian in Hayward is a great value, not the top 10% of sushi in the Bay Area, but big pieces, good & moderately priced.

Those are both in Oakland -- maybe the poster could clarify whether "between" includes Oakland. Moreover, when we've gotten this request before it's usually from someone who is coming into the airport and heading south on 880 -- if that's true in this case, those suggestions would require backtracking.

That said, pickings are pretty slim south on 880 from the airport to 92.

There are some good if not fabulous places on Hesperian (which runs parallel to 880 along that route), including a Vietnamese place that's gotten good recs:
