Any suggestions for catering hall or restaurant in Northern Westchester for 150-200 guests? Our temple is in Croton on Hudson and seems to be limited places nearby.

Haven't been there, but a client had an event at Trump golf/club in Briarcliff. Don't know cost or size, but that might be work checking out.

There's Tappan Hill in Tarrytown (probably about 20 minutes from Croton) - it can be quite pricey though. Depending on the season, you could also do a tented event at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton, though I'm not positive of their guest limitations. Also, the Lexington Square Cafe in Mt. Kisco is available for private parties, but you would need to check their guest limits. Good luck!

I have the paper downstairs but I think it's the Colonial Terrace, they are having a Bar/Bat Mitzvah fair on Sunday the 11th.

Can anyone confirm this fair date? I know for sure there is one at the Hyatt in Greenwich on 3/18.

Did you consider the country clubs? They can handle large crowds.

The room in the temple is not nice and too small. I looked at Colonial Caterers today in Cortlandt Manor. Catering hall was a little old but the large ballroom and cocktail area and outside patio seemed nice..

Is that Cortlandt Colonial or Colonial Terrace (both in Cortlandt)? I have not been at Cortlandt Colonial, but Colonial Terrace (unfortunately) I have--

                  DGresh,

What was the problem at Colonial Terrace? My wife & I had our wedding there and were extremely happy with all aspects of the place. Granted that was almost 8 years ago and things could change.

I was there for a "community awards dinner" less than a year ago (boy scouts) and the cost was $26 for adults, I think $13 for kids (now maybe the boy scouts were skimming the profits, but somehow I doubt it). I thought the food we got, and the service we got was worth more like $6. They put a jug of coke and a jug of sprite on the table (for 10 people), never came back; I had to "break into" the kitchen to ask for a glass of water; dessert was a small scoop of icecream the size of an apricot, dinner was a buffet of penne, some kind of chicken parmesan and "chopped iceberg lettuce salad". It just seemed really tired and slapdash, for a ridiculous amount of money.

My husband and I just booked the Colonial Terrace for our daughter's bat mitzvah in 2009. First, the renovations look amazing. I disagree that the place looked old. It's an 1800 mansion. Its worth the price and leon seemed great to work with. You can't be the price for what you get. We have been to many functions there and it's always been top notch. You'd make a mistake if you don't book with them. Deal with Leon.....
