Need family friendly 40th b'day event for downtown sophisticated daughter!
Problem: Helping my son-in-law to plan a surprise 40th party for a downtown Chicago gal. We need to keep at least 10 kids - toddlers to teens - occupied and happy, while entertaining the adults. The date is restricted to April 28th, a Saturday, in the afternoon or evening. We're looking at about 25 people. Could be more. We love good food, but we need to avoid keeping the little guys restricted to a dining room chair. I'll appreciate any guidance. I'm a suburban grandmother who hasn't a clue where to begin.
Greek Town is very family friendly and they do well with kids, especially at lunch. Athena is my favorite but Greek Island might be the best bet with the kids. They could give you a separate room.

I love Vinci's for a great private event. I booked my mom's 60th there. They have fabulous food, and take great care of you. We go there all the time. No problem with kids. You really can't go wrong. Vinci's is at the corner of Halsted/Willow near Steppenwolf theater. Go online at vincichicago.com
I think Athena's or Costa's in Greek town would be great. Franchesca's on Taylor has a private room that would be a nice fit.If you want something a little more upscale, Grill on the Alley has a private room that would fit and has a very big menu. I have seen many children there.
