Good Curry Paste

Southern Belle Mar 2, 2007 07:00 AM

Anyone found good curry paste with a reliable hechsher? I used to love red curry paste with coconut milk before my kosher days.

Last night we were at Abigaels and their special was tilapia with green curry & coconut sauce -- was DELISH and renewed my quest for good premade curry powder or paste. Where in the NY area or mail order can I find it?

It isn't hard to make curry paste. Google it, especially from Alton Brown.

I used ImoFood's kosher red curry and kosher coconut cream to make the most delicious chicken curry.

also where did you get coconut cream? is it like cocount milk or something different? Are there other kosher brands of coconut cream?

Coconut milk is a 1:1 ratio of shredded coconut to water; cream is 4:1 in favor of coconut -- much richer (it's like condensed milk compared to milk).
