Hi,

My father is turning 70 this month. We're looking for a restaurant that is open for Sunday lunch on the Westside (Santa Monica, W. LA, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Culver City, etc.). There will be 12-14 people. We're open to any suggestions.

Also, if we can't find a good restaurant open on Sunday, then we're open to recommendations on deli platters or pick-up/delivery items.

Thanks,
JinCC

  1. Joe's in Venice has a great brunch. Or try the Victorian on Main St, Santa Monica. Haven't been yet though. For more casual, Fritto Misto, Il Forno, OP Cafe

    1. How about Chez Mimi is Santa Monica? The setting is lovely, the food is very good and I'm sure she'll do a special birthday dessert if you let them know in advance.

      1. You might consider The Gardens on Glendon.

        1. I suggest an ocean view restaurant like Shutters at One Pico.

          1. Second Shutters -- food strictly middle of the road but v. comfortable place w/elegant but relaxed feel and can't beat the beach for a really special occasion vibe.

            1. I think Gardens on Glendon is an excellent suggestion for a 70th birthday party.

              1. Axe
                Viceroy
                Michaels

                1. Personally enjoy of Axe but wouldn't take my grandmother there -- kind of echoy and loud and not super comfortable for the older set.
