Trader Joe's Cheesecake (White Box)

I have purchased the Blue Box New York Cheesecake from Trader Joe's, and like it well enough, so I've been afraid (of what I don't know) to purchase the White Box Old Fashioned Cheesecake (it's bigger and bit more expensive). I'm wondering if anyone has had the white box version, and can comment on whether it is more dense or more light, fluffy, and creamy. Also, if anyone has had both the white and blue box versions, how do the two compare? Thanks so much! ...And, I suppose if no one responds, I'll have to bite the bullet and buy that white box... I just hate being disappointed when it comes to cheesecake--nothing like going in for a bite of cheesecake and coming out with a bite of dairy sawdust...

  1. Why not buy one of each? If you don't like the new one, TJs will take it back and at least you'll have the one you know you like as a back up.

I'm really not one to take things back, but thanks for the suggestion.

    2. I'm in the opposite situation. I like the white box so much I've never bought the blue box. Give it a try; the first time I had it at a party I was shocked to hear it was from TJ's. It's fairly dense and creamy.

I like creamy a lot, so I'll give it a go this weekend.

The blue box is creamier in the center and denser around the edges. The crust is good on it too... How's the crust? And is it more dense or more creamy? I know I'm asking silly questions, but I'm a cheesecake freak :-)

      2. ditto what Pei said, except for the whole party thing. My sister who's the foodie recommended it.
