Portland in March is probably the worst time to come, but that shouldn't stop you from having a good time. Portland is very walkable. As a tourist you want to check out Exchange St. and Commercial street. Perhaps a little bit of Congress st. if you want to go check out the L.L. Bean store and the nutjobs we have roaming the streets.

The center of the city is Monument Square. Do not miss getting a sandwich at Henry VIII's there. Best sandwich you will have in a long time.

I would also take a trip to the top of Munjoy Hill(Congress St.) to the Eastern Prom. Very nice sight up there looking over the ocean. Near the top of Munjoy Hill is The Front Room which has quickly become one of the most popular restaurants in the city. I would check it out for breakfast or brunch. Dinner is great too but pretty damn busy.

For dinner I'm always going to recommend 555

A nice quick trip for shopping is 15 minutes away in Freeport. Tons of factory stores and just a nice scene. Let me know if you have any more questions.
