August or Commander's Palace for weekeday lunch?

I'm trying to decide between these two places. I have never been to either. If you were me, would you pick one of these places over the other, or just go to both of them during a week's stay?

Hope I didn't miss you. I agree that the Sunday brunch is fantastic, but the 25 cent martinis seal the deal for Commander's Palace, once voted best restaurant in North America by the Beard Foundation.

Can't answer your question, but I hope you'll be there over a weekend, because Sunday jazz brunch at Commander's Palace is one of the great treats in life. My wife and I make a trip to New Orleans from Dallas every few years just to do that.

Restaurant August has always had a great lunch, post Katrina they may not be open everyday of the week, so call to be sure.

August only does lunch on Fridays.

I did not know that August was open for lunch. Is that a definite? Thanks for letting me know as I may give it a try next week.

I have read elsewhere about wonderful lunch specials at both restaurants (inexpensive martinis and prix fix 3-course options). Is there anyone out there who experienced these options at either or both places who could give a description or somehow point me in the right direction?
