Potato Waffles in NYC

I miss potato waffles from London. Is there any place that I can find potato waffles in Manhattan or around? Either frozen or in a restaurant?

  1. What's a potato waffle? I've never heard of it. Is it served sweet or savory?

    1. I think I remember Sarabeth's offering a potato waffle. While I have not tried it, judging by their amazing pumpkin waffle, it should be pretty good.

Sarabeth's does have a potato waffle. However, it is not good (gummy and tasteless.) As much as I love Sarabeth's (try the scones!) I would not recommend this dish.

I had the potato waffle at Sarabeth's and thought it was pretty good. I don't see it on their current menu on menupages, though.

        2. Waterfront Ale House.

That is, if you are describing what I call "waffle fries". They also have Coleman's mustard, HR Sauce and Sarson's vinegar to go with it.

no, potato waffles are something different. imagine, if you can, a cross between a hash brown cake and mashed potatoes compressed into a square waffle shape. i've never seen them in the us.

Then I can't say I have either. Sounds good though.
