Any updated feedback on Jibarra in Raleigh?

I've been wanting to go there for a while - but living in Durham I tend to stay in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.

The menu looks wonderful - would love some feedback.

  1. My wife and I had dinner a Jibarra on Friday night. We were very impressed. It is difficult to find true Mexican cuisine and doubly so on this side of the country. I had a seared lamb loin with black mole and green corn tamale and my wife had the chicken stuffed with truffle. Both were amazing. As an appetizer I had what was probably the best tortilla soup I have ever had. The bring out a large bowl with fried tortilla strips into which the waitress pours the hot soup so the strips are crunchy and soaked in soup at the same time. We had the aged cheese and coconut flan for dessert that my wife thought was about the best thing that she has eaten in a while. It is definitely worth the trek if you are into Mexican cuisine.

    1. That soup sounds killer. I need to go back to Jibarra. When I was there last year, their queso fundido was very tasty and memorable. It was four separate small bowls with cheese, roasted poblano peppers and two other items. This allowed you to assemble your own little bite.
