Good eats near the Erwin Center?

I'm hitting the UT-A&M b-ball game this evening with a pal and we can't decide on a place to eat. Not really the finest culinary section in town as far as I can tell .. or am I forgetting something? Quick and tasty is the order of the day. Hook me up. Cheers.

Not much - I always opt for not so cheap beer and some german fare at Scholz. Park once, and then walk to EC from Scholz. Some people also do this with the Chili Parlor, but the walk is a bit further.

Hog Island is at 16th and guadalupe.

The close place: Scholz Beer Garden. Has a couple german options (very mediocre) and a full set of Green Mesquite BBQ options. Not heavily recommended for deliciousness -- however, the beer experience come gametime is pretty cool.

If "Quick and tasty" is an absolute requirement, the better places are out of reach. East Side Cafe on Manor is delicious, but out of reach. El Chile's sister El Chilito or whatever may be your best bet. Casino El Camino will meet (no, exceed!) your burger needs, but the burgers take 30+ minutes. Chez Nous ain't far, but again, it is a sit-down French joint.

Quick and tasty near Eriwn Center.... Quick... Tasty... Erwin... Yeah, I don't know what to tell you other than Scholz. Good luck!
