Desperate need of a good bakery!

Help!! Need to find a good bakery! I would prefer somewhere in Arthur Ave. or even Manhattan. I need a large cake for a Bridal shower. Any suggestions

    Still there, although not in original location. Their cakes are beautiful, but so heavy as to be almost inedible.

      Cupcake cafe has absolutely gorgeous buttercream cakes. Perfect for a bridal shower. It used to be near port authority but I think it moved. Anyone know?

          Little Red Hen. I know there's one in Brooklyn, but I frequent the off-shoot on 2nd Ave between 85th & 86th.

            Veniero's? Tompkins Square Bakery on E 10th Street makes nice decorative cakes (and reasonably priced!)

              One of thebest bakeries in NYC is Claude's on West 4th Street.
              The Upper East Side must have many, also, I just don't know a specific one, off hand.
              Also Dean and Deluca has very nice items, as does Citterrella (sp?)

                Bakery Soutine makes great cakes - on West 71st Street
