Ernie's, 2150 Broadway

Does anyone know if Ernie's, 2150 Broadway, bet 75th and 76th, is still in business? If it is, how is the food? I am going to re-do my first date with my wife and we ate at Ernie's. We went back once about 6 or 7 years ago and it had undergone a ownership change and wasn't very good. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

My husband's family used to like Ernies but the one time I went (probably 5 yrs ago) I guess it had already changed ownership and was horrible, didnt think we needed more duane reade's but I was not sorry to see it go. Its not exactly the same location or place, but we really like San Luigi's and its the same neighborhood and also red sauce italian.

It actually became another restaurant (by the same owners) before it died and became Duane Reade. I can't even remember what the place was called after Ernie's, but it didn't last very long.

Before Duane Reade it was Las Ramblas - tapas and the like. It closed pretty quickly.

Thank you so much! I couldn't find anything about it past 2003. The night we were there the first time George Carlin had the back room after taping an HBO special at the Beacon.
