Dinners & lunches near the Hilton on 6th betw. 53rd & 54th?
I will be in NY Mar 8-12 for a conference at the Hilton on Avenue of the Americas and would appreciate some chow worthy recommendations. Lunches will likely be by myself and I'm open to anything - dives included! Dinners are usually with a group of around 6 on expense accounts so non-dive places would be great - also walking distance (within 10 mins. of hotel) is best. Please advise if reservations shoul e made in advance or if same day reservations should suffice. Thanks very much!
P.S. I was last in NY in October and had a fantastic meal with great service at Artisanal!
I had several breakfasts and lunches at Michael's several years ago while at the Hilton for a conference. I loved it. They're conveniently located by walking up Sixth Avenue and turning right onto 55th. Make your reservations now - I just checked Open Table for Friday, March 9. There are reservations still available. Saturday looks booked.

Le Bernardin, 3 star Michelin seafood. Incredible, but it may already be too late for reservations.
The Modern at MoMA, Estatorio Milos, Aquavit and Il Gattopardo for expense account dinners -- reservations recommended for all...
Ruby Foos, Bar Americain, Porterhouse, Brasserie Ruhlmann, Del Frisco's (all walking distance and great for expense accounts)
la grenouille, town, db bistro moderne, nobu 57, Remi, Cite. All are not far la grenouille is amazing upscale french, jacket required. Db bisto good for groups u can usually get a table. There are also some steakhouses in the area ben benson's is right there.
definately go to Burger Joint for lunch. it is a super modest, super delish burger joint in the back of the swanky Parker Meridian hotel on west 56th.
Dinner recommendations: Remi, China Grill (definately not Ruby Foos), nobu 57 (yum!),
you should also have drinks at the awesome rooftop bar on top of the Dream Hotel on 55th and Broadway.
Consider Tratoria Del Arte on 7th Ave at 57th ST. Really fabulous antipasto bar and outstanding thin crust pizza, good entrees as well. Besides it's a fun place with great atmosphere and decor (body part sculptures and you're likely to see celebs. This place is a longtime family fav with us)
Also - Normas in the Parker Median has terrific brunch offerings, but service is very slow. Have been several times, usually a 2 hr ordeal.
Remi is a very classy Venetian next door.
