Great $50 dinner in Center City?

vozick Feb 28, 2007 03:02 AM

I am coming with a friend on a budget. We are staying off Rittenhouse Square. What is the best dinner in the $50 per person range in that area? Prefer to avoid seafood and Asian cuisine. Thanks for your advice.

I just had dinner at Jones on Saturday Night, 700 Chestnut. Its a real fun place, food is termed "comfort food", eclectic and very good quality. Definitely worth a look. You can get a real nice dinner for $50pp.

For $50PP at Jones, you can get a meal for four people. Jeez, that's a weird idea.

There are v. few places in Center City you can't eat well at for $50PP, unless you're heavy drinkers. Search around the site.

I agree, $50 per person isn't much of a limitation, even in Rittenhouse. You could go to Snackbar for that and leave satisfied, as long as you don't go crazy with the wine list.

For that price, I recommend buying a good bottle of wine, and make a reservation at Matyson or Branzino. Easy walks from Rittenhouse Square and wonderful food.

Take a cab and go to Django, Mandoline, Marigold Kitchen or even Amada (if you spend wisely).
