arizonagirl Feb 27, 2007 09:12 AM

I'll be staying at the Mariott Marquis 1535 Broadway
New York, New York 10036

Can anyone recommend a good bagel place with in walking distance.

I think H&H is the closest to you at 46th and 12th. Just remember, they won't toast or otherwise prepare your bagel.

Times Square Hot Bagels (44th? 43rd?) is very close to you and is pretty good. Ess-A is the best in New York, and I've had all the famous ones this past month, some side-by-side.

That's a pretty long walk, but the bagels are among my favorite in the city.

Essa Bagel on 52nd and 3rd Ave. It's a bit of a hike from your hotel, but well worth it.

To make it easier to find - it's on 51st and 3rd - and it is WELL worth the walk. If you're used to toasted bagels, don't worry when they tell you they simply "don't toast"; it's because the bagels are often still hot/warm from the oven. Enjoy!
