Best Japanese Ramen in LA (east of 110 Hwy)???
I have guests in town from the midwest (originally from Japan), and they want to go somewhere that has really good ramen (similar, or better, something they could get in Japan). I heard downtown (Little Tokyo) or Alhambra area may have something? As always, any input is greatly appreciated!

I'm looking forward to trying San Sui Tei. The Little Tokyo favorite has been Daikokuya, although some say the soup has changed recently... haven't been back lately so I can't comment. In SGV, you're probably thinking of Shinsengumi in Rosemead. I didn't think it was that great, and since the other locations get raves this may be the weak link in the chain.

My current favorite is the new outlet of San Sui Tei in Little Tokyo--313 E. 1st Street, LA
213-613-0100.They have a great broth, noodles and amazing roast pork. They also have a large and varied menu. I think your friends will feel a bit homesick afterwards.
