Decent lunch near 30th St. in Philadelphia?

  • 2

Greetings from a DC hound. Meeting a friend for lunch, both of us coming into 30th St. station in the neighborhood of 12:45 tomorrow. Anyplace in or nearby station that's chow-worthy? Friend is kosher, which might have to mean vegetarian for her. don't want super fancy but just about anything will do. We definitely have time; I need to walk or cab to the Penn campus (38th and Walnut) in time for a 3:30 meeting. Wish I could provide a little more guidance but am feeling a bit stumped. Thanks for any ideas!

(note: did a similar thing on my own last year, had a decent but not great lunch at the White Dog Cafe near Penn Law School. Perfectly pleasant, just not a "wow.")

  1. There's a really good bar/restaurant in the station- I think it's called Bridgewater. I'd reccommend posting this on the Pennsylvania page. You'll get a lot more responses.

    Enjoy your trip!

    1. Pod is a block from the White Dog. It's above average as far as sushi and the cuisine and has an interesting vibe to it. http://www.podrestaurant.com
