need your best all day breakfast recs

Hey all,

This is a bit of a specific request. I got a friend who just informed me that he is visiting LA from out of town and wants to have a great breakfast tomorrow. Unfortunately I have business to attend to in the morning and can't get out to meet him until noon.

Any recommendations for all-day breakfast or weekday brunch? My buddy's a strict vegetarian and he's staying in Beverly Hills. Something in the vicinity would be nice, but quality and good meat-free options are the overriding concerns here.

How about Barney Greengrass at the Barneys NY store, right in Beverly Hills on Wilshire? Not cheap, but really good.

The Pacific Dining Car (http://pacificdiningcar.com/breakfast... ) downtown serves an excellent breakfast, 24/7. I am totally hooked on their top sirloin and eggs, but their avocado scramble, swiss eggs, and their homemade sausage are also all very good. Nice pancakes too. Not cheap, but not outrageously expensive for a solid breakfast served on linen tablecloths with hotel silver, either. (As minor side note, while the PDC's breakfasts are good, they've recently started serving something they call buttermilk biscuits, which should absolutely be avoided.)

Toast serves breakfast all day. In fact, I think its better to get breakfast there at night and avoid the crowds.

If you want a treat go to the Fountain Coffee Shop downstairs in the Beverly Hills Hotel on Sunset Blvd. for breakfast, (they serve breakfast all day). I like the fact it feels very cocoon like, (no windows) with the jungle motif wallpaper and only counter seating. The food is very good and the wait staff is wonderful. It always makes my day go better when I have a chance to eat here.

Agree that the Fountain at the BH Hotel is a great choice. Their breakfast is divine and is served all day. Their O.J. is the best in town as are the waffles

Maybe Jack Sprat's? Can't say I love the place, but ....
