Help! Plastic melted to cookie sheet

I recently high-roasted a couple of turkeys for a friend of mine. Somehow, a Ziploc bag snuck in between the heavy foil roasting pan and the steel cookie sheet I was using to support the pan. Now, I have a square of plastic fused to my favorite cookie sheet! Does anyone have a good idea as to how I might get the plastic off easily without damaging anything else in the kitchen?

  1. I'm surprised that it didn't just peel off once it cooled... you might try freezing it.

I rewarmed my pan to about 300 degrees. Once up to temp I then took a blunt putty knife and scraped off the residue. My one sister was into baking plastics, not me.

I think the worse plastic mess I ever had was when my sister decided to hide the plastic snap together brush & dust pan in the oven. It was one bad mess.
