I work in the Financial District and am always looking for a good lunch place--has anyone tried Soup Freaks? I'm also interested in knowing what other non-soup items and/or veggie items they have on their menu.

Thanks!

I can tell you that the matzoh ball soup should be avoided. Not great tasting and tiny, tiny, tiny portion.

I've heard other soups are good there.

Agreed on the matzo ball soup. The broth had absolutely no flavor in it whatsoever -- it tasted like water.

But the lentil soup is pretty tasty, especially for lentil soup.

I've started eating at this place almost daily now. its healthy and tastes good. I'm not a heavy eater so a half sandwich and 8 oz soup is perfect for me and for how good the sirloin is I definitely can't justify getting the crap at wendy's or subway and feeling dissatisfied with the lunch and only paying a dollar or two more than one of their value meals.

Matzo.. its good if you're sick or don't want something too heavy. The lentil soup is great, perfect combo with the sirloin sandwich. The produce is always fresh, their fruit is good but since it is organic you're dealing with the problems of seasonal fruits which they may too ripe or not ripe enough. Fine with me as long as there's no pesticides. I don't know what day the clam chowder is on, I think thursday's but that was a pretty good soup too. My boss eats the chili there like there's no tomorrow. I'd really like to see more soup variety. I want to eat healthy, but I'm definitely not a vegetarian or vegan so like a chicken and broccoli cream soup or something to that effect.

Over all I give this a great rating. Friendly staff, good filling food, at least for me, the price isin't too hard on the pocketbook for eating healthy. Its sad how much more healthy food costs, no wonder we're so fat in this country.

I don't like mayo, so I was very pleased with their mayo-less tuna salad. But at those prices, I haven't really been motivated to go back.
