My brother has offered to take me out to eat, before a concert. I don't live in Brooklyn, any special suggestions?

I don't know where Union Hall is. Is this at BAM? If so, you are not too far from the Garden Cafe. I had an amazing meal there last month. It was my first time there and I was really impressed. The place has been around for a long time and it's not a hip place but the food is delicious.

Union Hall isn't very close to BAM, though if you're driving anything's possible. You be just blocks from Al Di La which is generally considered the best resteraunt on 5th avenue, if not in brooklyn. Other options would include any one of several decen sit-down chinese restaraunts with good vegetarian options like Hunan Wok and Hunan Delight. This thread looks like it'll help:

If you're up for walking a few more blocks, there's some great places on Atlantic like Stan's and Bachus.

There's a ton of great restaurants within a 5 minute walk, Al di La, Stone Park and Blue Ribbon just to name 3. Seriously. No reason to go any farther than you have to.

Convivium Osteria is a block or two a way. Great place for a birthday.
