French Laundry Pictures

  • r

I know perceptor is the man with the pics but I've taken up photography as a hobby these days (it's been a month or so). I took some pics from The French Laundry when I had dinner there on 2/13/07.

Overall the meal was excellent. The only meal that rivals this one was when I went to Urasawa last October. My favorite was the foie gras...better than anything I had in my visits to France.

Each dish may only be about 2 bites but after 3.5 hours and 13 or so of those dishes, I was full (and one look at my belly will tell you that I can really eat a lot).

RVD.

  1. delightful. thanks for sharing.

i don't think i've seen anyone actually actively taking pictures of food at the french laundry, but it's almost as if i was sitting there with you. it's as if i was back there in yountsville all over again. you tell a great story.

    1. I ate at FL a couple years ago, and photographed nearly every course.

      1. Wow, thanks for the really great pictures and descriptions! It's my dream to go to The French Laundry, and it was nice living vicariously through you! I'll definitely have to get the foi gras supplement when I finally make it out there...

Might as well get the black truffle supplement too if you're going for the gusto......=-D

          2. Nice photos, and great captions. Thanks.

            1. thanks for all the kind words. it was fun.

              RVD.

              1. Thanks for the pictures. Now I never have to waste my money there personally.

                1. I was there the week before xmas and photographed almost every course. I didn't use flash so my pics aren't as well lit as yours.

I had a great time there - for me it was a combination of a fantastic meal and a wonderful group of companions.

                  1. Beautiful photos and thanks for the captions. The food, plating, and overall experience looks amazing. Their attention to detail is very apparent in your photos.

What did you think of the combo of black olives w/ lobster? I was surprised to see that pairing since I never would have thought of the two together before, but Keller might know a thing or two more than I do. :-)

                    1. i don't really remember the lobster and black olives but i do remember that the lobster was good.

oddgirl, nice pictures. i guess they had a different holiday type menu because your dishes look pretty different from the stuff that i had.

                      RVD.

                      1. i have a question about the foie.
That Foie looks like a pate. was it? it certainly doesn't look like the pan seared slice of lobe that most people prepare around here. What was the description? Did they say where it came from?

Your pictures are quite gorgeous by the way, thanks for sharing, and happy belated birthday to your wife.
