Looking for a fun place to go for dinner tonight in Seattle (Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, etc...). Group of 9 or 10 people...must haves are fun atmosphere and good drinks. Please help! Many thanks!

P.S. I love this board!

That big with no reservations? On a Friday night? Scary! I think the best would be Tutta Bella, either in Columbia City or Wallingford. That puts it outside (but near) of either of the neighborhoods that you named, but I think it's your best bet for a large party AND good food.

Another idea might be the Garage on Capitol Hill... the food is not bad, some twists on classic diner and pub grub, but with bowling and acres of pool tables on site, it's pretty fun.

Its been a long time since I've been there but the Garage www.garagebilliards.com (1134 Broadway Ave, Seattle, WA 98122 206-322-2296) used to be great fun. I've heard good things about Via Tribunali on Pike near Broadway. But I don't know if they take reservations...or if they take them this late for a larger party > 913 E Pike St, Seattle, WA 98122 (206) 322-9234

In the same vein and same area, the new Osteria La Spiga (12th between Union and PIke). Parking can be problematic though. Maybe get drinks at Licorous beforehand (a block away)

La Spiga is great, but you do need a reservation. A friend and I tried dropping in for dinner on a Friday night a month ago, and the hostess just smiled when we said "no reservations." We sat in their little couch area eating cheese and drinking wine, and were eventually seated after an hour or so.

Another idea might be Galerias on Broadway. It's over-the-top Mexican food, not at all what you see at chain restaurants, maybe nouveau Mexican? Lots of fruit sauces and wild combinations. But really delicious and they've got good margaritas and other cocktails. And the owner is great, if you get to meet him.

Galerias, is that the place above QFC? I had a margarita there once and it was very sweet...almost too sweet.

Thanks for all of the replies, all ideas are welcome!

No, it's on the north end of Broadway, by the Deluxe and across from where the Jade Pagoda used to be.

You also may want to consider Black Bottle, in Belltown. They've got an area for larger parties in the back and may be able to accommodate a reservation even this late in the game. Also, their dishes are well-sized (indeed geared) for sharing and the wine list is affordable.

It's worth a call to see if the private rooms at Tango or Palace Kitchen are available.

Soooo we ended up at The Deluxe on the corner of Roy and Broadway. Decent food and lots to drink...good times. Took about a half hour to get seated...for 10 people. We went across the street to a Thai place for drinks to wait. Thanks for all of the recommendations!
