Business Dinner Rec Needed

redbird Feb 22, 2007 04:48 PM

My husband is flying in from Boston next week to interview a potential board member. Both he and the prospect are staying at the Waldorf Astoria. He's hoping that some NYC hounds can recommend a suitable place for dinner. Here are the requirements -- excellent food, around $100 per person before wine, quiet(er) atmosphere that lends itself to lengthy discussion, preferably relatively close to hotel. We don't know anything about the prospect's food tastes so the choice shouldn't be too out there. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks for the ideas! We had already thought of Aureole, The Modern and Oceana but had forgotten aboout Connant's restaurants. Will look into those as well and book something this morning. Cheers.

Alto or L'impero. Italian, both by Chef Scott Connant. Older crowds. Aureole.
