Center City Italian

Besides Vetri, any good Italian in center city??? Looking to not spend as much as at Vetri- my favorite. Any good places with yummy red sauce? Must be in center city- not South Philly.

I'm a fan of Porcini around Rittenhouse Square. It's BYOB, but I haven't had a bad meal there yet. It's very, very small, so it fills up quickly.

Just had a nice meal at Branzino, a BYO on 17th St. Everything was tasty (had the grilled calamari, gnocchi w/red sauce and the branzino) and our plates were wiped clean at the end (and we were stuffed). The food was comfortable (which is what we were looking for), service excellent, and a nice atmosphere.

Have you been to Osteria yet? It's fantastic. Melograno is great too. Neither are red sauce type places.
