Challah in CC?

Hi,
I read the glatt kosher thread with interest, but unfortunately I'm a poor student in CC with neither the time nor money (nor car...) to check out some of these awesome bakeries a bit further afield. My best friend is coming to visit me after a year in Israel, and I'm new to the area myself.
I'd love to have some gorgeous challah on hand for shabbos - any suggestions? Doesn't have to be a specifically kosher bakeries (but those recs. would be appreciated too).

Max's Produce on 20th around Locust carries challah and bagels from Roling's Bakery (talked up in the glatt kosher thread) every Friday. It was a little sweet for my taste. I like Le Bus for the classic bakery challah, and I like the saffron raison challah from Metropolitan Bakery. Swiss Pastry Shop at 19th and Chestnut also does a classic basic challah. Kind of out of season, but Le Bus does amazing huge round challahs for Rosh Hashanah. Thank you.

I got some last week at Le Bus on 18th Street that was pretty good. They have both plain and raisen.
