Birthday dinner - veg friendly - Red Hook

iwantcake Feb 22, 2007 05:06 AM

What would be your top choice for a vegetarian-friendly birthday dinner for 2? Are there other options besides 360? Red Hook is my top choice, since we don't know it as well, but would also do Smith St. On Smith St., we've been to Chestnut (yum) so would prefer a different suggestion there.

La Buena Forchetta on Van Brunt, right across from LeNells, has quite good food and, while the menu is relatively meat-heavy, they provided an excellent repast (mostly off the menu) for my father, who's a strict vegetarian (no eggs as well).

The Good Fork - Really nice couple runs the place, the food is several notches above the Hope the & Anchor and there are a fair number of veg friendly options

At the last minute, I changed my mind and we went to 360. It was delicious. The veg prix fixe they created for my husband was delicious and balanced; the entree included protein, vegetables, and grains, which is a sign of a thoughtful chef. We were very happy with it. Will try Good Fork the next time.
