Dragon's Gate Info and other chinese things

Hi,
Just got back from a visit to Dragon's Gate in Chinatown (amoung other resturaunts there) and I have some information I thought might be of use to the board.
First I regret to say that According to the staff the much beloved salt and pepper octopus is no longer being offered (they say that the squid versions is just as good but i tried it and it tastes the same as practically every salt and pepper squid I've ever had.) I also tried the Dragon's Gate Triumph dish. Not a great sucess. Their heart in the right place (all those garlic chives) but Lap Cheong (chinese sausage) is just too fatty to sucessfully use in a stir fry like that. the seafood surrong it was likewise unremarkable (though they do get poiny for adding shedded jellyfish) since I was quite hungry I also tried their Scallion Beef which while not bad was far from the best Ive had. (Somewhat ironically most or the really good giger scallion beef's I've gotten in Chinatown have come from some of the Fuzou Seafood Resturants one East Broadway. by the way the QQ bakery on that street proved to have unsually tasty roast pork puffs. that's enough for now ta.

The salt and pepper fish is good too (Do they still have that ? ) , almost like eating french fries since the fish is so thin. They do oversalt, though you can tell them not to use that much.
