My one (very slight beef with kam sen is that despite the fact that the scallion pankackes that they sell at the cooked food area are the frozen kind (it's alright they're the GOOD f rozen kind) they do not offer them in the actual store. Still its nice to have it there particulary when I need to stock up on tea. (golden village just isn't big enough for me to be able to count on them having what I need when I need it)

KamSen, the Asian grocery in White Plains, has actually set something up so you can buy takeout dim sum, stuff like char siu pao's and siu mai. I haven't given it a try yet, so I don't know of the quality.

Central Seafood in Hartsdale has dim sum too (avoid the chinese chive cakes) but to be honest if you all the way over there Aberdeen is only five or so minutes away and most of thiers are better

I was going to try Kam Sen's a few days ago but the prices were way overboard for what looked like frozen dumplings.

Kam Sen was expensive? That's so odd... I would never peg the place for having overpriced food, even for dim sum/dumplings. Particularly since their other food is pretty inexpensive. That's disappointing.

JMF, do you think it was really from frozen? If so, that's a bad cop out on their part...

thanks for the report and heads up!

I haven't tried the Kam Sen dimsum yet, but I did speak to the manager of the dessert section and she said they are made in the store every morning. Whatever that means....

I think those are the best, and in that order.
