Private Chef in Sonoma
I am a So Cal hound that will be renting a house in Sonoma in May with 4 other couples and am looking for a chef that will come to the house and cook for us one night. Anyone have any recommendations?

I highly recommend Misty Phelps...she's a personal chef who lives in Napa. Her style is high end wine country comfort food. She can personalize the menu to your taste as well as pair wines with each course. She catered our wedding (40 people at our house in St Helena), however, she mainly does private dinners for groups anywhere from 6-18. She can be reached at getmisty@napanet.net. I've attended a 10-person dinner in a private home prepared by Larry Vito, formerly of SF's Fournou's Ovens. When the guests started showing up and he saw how winecentric the meal was going to be (the host didn't tell him this), he looked at our wine line-up, tasted some of them and adjusted the seasonings in the preps on the fly to be better matches with the wines. Very impressive. He said to let him know in advance next time to do an even better job . . . I think he didn't have any blue cheese for something he would have liked to make for us to match with a sweet wine. And, he left the kitchen cleaner than he found it.
