i'd also give a nod to zinc bistro....thought they would probably loathe you calling their pommes frites, "fries". ;)

Yes! The frites at Zinc Bistro are good..and the homemade ketchup is great too!

Friends we had lunch with today were saying Majerle's has great fries? I was surprised to hear this!

I like Delux for regular thin cut fries and Flancer's Cafe for seasoned fries. I don't know any place that does Belgian fries, but I'd love some thick fries with curry sauce.

I absolutely love the fries at Carlsbad Tavern, so good! Especially w/ a side of chipotle mayo.

Ok ok ok, I know they're not Belgian, but I have to give a plug to my favorite fries in Phoenix - Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe! Coupled with a side of chipotle ranch and a Hop Knot, I can't seem to find a place I'd rather go for fries in the Valley!

For some great, basic Russet potato fries, go to Welcome Diner on Roosevelt. They cut them fresh (the slicer is on the wall) and fry them. Amazingly good.
And yeah, Delux has some good fries. My g/f loves the sp fries. I think Welcome Diner does better plain fries, though.

i was driving on roosevelt today and saw an understated building and the word fries and laid on the brakes to see what it was. When i got to the window the guy informed me they had closed at three, then I noticed I was at the welcome diner. and I thought "Oh, the welcome diner, i've heard about this on CH." So much for being the discoverer of some great secret. I guess that I have to add them to my list of must eats before i move in two weeks.

I'm not sure what Belgian style fries are, but Remington Grill in Chandler has the best fresh cut fries & yummy sweet potato fries too...

I'd recommend Trente-Cinq 35, the Belgian restaurant on 7th Street, for excellent fries. It's not a take-out type of place, though.
