nesselrode pie

my lunatic father has been searching fruitlessly for a nesselrode pie for seemingly his entire life. this week he's here in la.

anyone know where i can pick a good one up while he's here?

      that's hilarious, I remember my mother going on about that topic when I was small (and she's been gone for 20+ years). What the heck is it anyway?

        not sure, but it has inspired a lifelong quest. apparently a lot of whipped cream, rum and little candy thingies.

        the brooklyn hook up will help when he gets back to NY, but i'd love to surprise him while he's visiting LA. any advice would be much appreciated.

          Have you checked with some of the bakeries around town? If they can't do one for you on special order they might have knowledge of someone that can. Susina (www.susinabakery.com) or Sweet Lady Jane or? If you look at an online recipe it seems like it would be very easy to make yourself.
