Amesbury restaurants?

Heard alot about great new restaurants in downtown Amesbury lately? Any recommendations?

well, the Ale House has moved to the old location of Powow River Grille and has been replaced by Firehouse BBQ. The early reports are very good - same owners as the Ale House and Barking Dog - if the food's as good as the aforementioned then the place will be jumping by the fall.

Flatbread is a favorite in my family and we have made many an expedition specifically to go there. The ambiance of the brick interior and exterior and the river nearby is worth the drive, even though the Bedford location is much closer. You can call ahead to be put on the seating list (not exactly a reservation).

One time the line was way too long and we tried the Ale House instead. Not nearly as good for what we were seeking. Better for drinking, though.

      Flatbread Compnay RAWKS!

not impressed at all w/Scandia. went here twice, both times the wait for a table in an almost empty dining room was awful, the meats (ordered MR) came well done, and there was a funky smell coming from the open windows in the back, river stink?

        A few others worth mentioning:

        Capaccio's Italian Cusine
        Barking Dog
        Ristorante Molise
