Best Indian/Pakistani food in San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles?

mmk Feb 20, 2007 10:34 AM

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a nice Indian/Pakistani restaurant in the San Fernando Valley especially or greater Los Angeles area. Fantastic food is a must but I'm also looking for ambience as it will be a special occasion. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I second Woodlands GREAT food. But its south Indian and Vegetarian, and the request for Indian/Pakistani makes me think you're looking for more northern fare. true?

There's always one of the Salomi palces. There's one in the Plaza del Oro in Encino. That's Indian/Pakistani.

At the recommendations of others on this board, I tried Punjab Palace in Northridge and it's great! Don't be scared off by the lack of people there, I hear they do a lot of catering.

They've got a huge TV as well with Indian shows.

i agree with ladius! punjab palace has good indian food. the server was a bit soft spoken but all in all the food was good. located in a small plaza. went there for dinner and the prices are good. they apparently have a lunch buffet for around 7 bucks so that seems like a good deal. i must agree that you shouldnt be scared off by the lack of people in there, my gf and i were the only ones there for dinner, it was a bit errie but i think might be bad location for them. otherwise id give it a 9/10

Shan in Artesia is the only way to go foodwise, tho' the ambience doesn't exactly scream special occasion. It's not elegant, but then again, it's definitely not a dump.

Ganga Din on Laurel Place in Studio City. LOVE it. Love the people who run it.
