Old Ubol's/New Arunee

So I decided to try the new Arunee this weekend since I was optimistic that it might be different in some way from Ubol's. Much to my dismay, I learned that you now must pay $1 if you would like rice with your entree. Not extra rice, but just rice in general. That is really crazy to me. Also, I don't think they actually are a different restaurant since they still had my credit card number on file... As for the chow, it seemed exactly the same as before.

I had lunch at Arunee in Jackson Heights with a friend who ordered a pot of Tea and asked for a second cup so we could share. The response, "absolutely not, you must both order a pot of tea." Someone sitting next to us did not finish the meal and wanted to take home leftovers. "Not Permitted."

Seems like they need to learn a thing or two about service!

Where is the new Arunee? Is this the same as the on one 81st in Jackson Heights?
I ordered from some curry for delivery from Arunee and they did not ask me if I wanted rice and did not deliver any. Then they refused to deliver me just rice. I was annoyed as I don't enjoy drinking curry on it's own!

Haven't tried the restaurant, but many Thai restuarants charge extra for rice, Sripraphai included.
