Romantic restaurants in the burbs

flythenav Feb 19, 2007 07:19 AM

Hi - I'm looking for a quiet, romantic, restaurant in the Needham - Canton - Dedham area. I haven't been back to the Boston area in quite awhile so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Any cuisine, any price will do - I'm just looking for a special place for a special night. Thanks.

Try the Windward Grille in Essex. Nice ambiance, service, and menu.

Try Vela- in Wellesley. It is owned by a chef who formerly worked in the North End. It is in the basement but quite nice and peaceful, white table clothes, nicely subtle decorations. Good drinks and excellent Italian food. The mushroom lasagna appetizer is delicious. Service is nice too.

But it's nowhere near the area the poster is inquiring about...

My sister lives in the Canton area, and loves going to Coriander in Sharon for special occasions.

Restaurant Pava in Newton Centre might not be too far and is pretty special, I'd call about when would be quiet.

Coriander in Sharon is great. Food decor and service remind me of the best in san francisco and that is high praise from me

Rat Pack Cafe in Framingham on Rt. 9 behind Legal Seafood, piano bar Friday & Saturday, jazz trio on Thursday. Food is great, though pricey, white tablecloth, good service.

Fava in Needham, great food, white tablecloth, small room, no bar to sit at.

Isabella's in Dedham is pretty nice. Quiet, dimly lit, relatively romantic.

Isabella's is good food but very few choices on menu

They've got a pretty normal sized menu.

I second Joanie's rec. I had a really nice meal and experience at Isabella's a couple of weeks ago.

Lumiere, Newton. Great food, quiet, elegant.

How about Blue Ginger in Wellesley? That's a short skip and a jump from Needham.
