My husband & I had a wonderful dinner at this quirky place on Broadway in Newport. For starters I had a beet soup with truffle cheese - smooth, subtle and delicious. My husband had a wonderful salad with fried artichoke hearts. Our entrees were great as well. I had one of the best burgers I have ever had - grilled and presented in a tortilla instead of a bun. My husband had pork with ginger and cherry sauce - amazing. For dessert we split the lavender creme brulee. Fantastic experience and the staff was great.

i love the salvation cafe. it is decorated so well, too...homey and colorful and vibrant. it's one of the few places i've been to that does "fusion" food without me feeling slightly embarrassed for them. the last time i went, i had a chicken pad thai pizza and it was amazing despite it sounding like it would be silly. the cocktails are really good, too. it's got a great selection for vegetarians as well.
