  1. i was there about 3 years ago. Thought it was good. Service and setting were probably better than the food, but the food was still a well-done, reliable American comfort food menu. Think pork chops, prime rib, mashed potatoes, roasted chicken -- that type of stuff. Reminded me of a Sunday dinner place.

second glutton's comments. good, but not fabulous.

    2. 3 visits. None for about a year. Nothing special, . One meal was poorly done. Keep going down broadway to Christy's.

2nd the comment about Christy's. Besides the food at Christy's, I've never seen a valet run faster. It's been about 6 months, but that guy could move. I mean, Renaldo Nehemiah type speed.

      2. We were there about a month ago. We had the fried green tomatoes, clam chowder, seabass and bread pudding. All in all an excellent meal.

        1. Went there, earlier this month. The food and service are memorably solid, but nothing to fawn over, except, maybe the clam chowder, which was very good. Thuesdays, the have a $5 martini night; I'd consider dropping by for martinis and 2 bowls of chowder.

          1. martinis & chowda sound GOOD if it wasn't such a haul from Irvine . . .. *sigh*

martini's & chowda that's far from Silverlake, but the train isn't that far.

              1. i don't know. i've only eaten at lasher's a couple of times. the service is terrifically friendly and hard-working. but the food really reminds me of something from the early '80s--faux cajun, faux homey. none of it very well executed. lots of gloppy pastas, etc. not worth a return visit.
