Livermore Valley Winery Recs

rosielucchesini Feb 17, 2007 03:34 PM

We'll be visiting the Livermore area next Saturday and plan on tasting at a few wineries while we are there. Of course Wente is the big name there but I'm thinking of trying some smaller, less known wineries as well. Anyone care to pass on any recs? Thanks in advance.

Where did you end up going? What did you find?

Concannon is far from a "smaller, less well known" winery, though.

My family really liked our visit to Chouinard: http://www.chouinard.com/index.html

        Well....it's all relative. :)
Concannon is smaller than Wente, but bigger than the others mentioned.
Maybe I'm a sucker for the dinosaur topiary at the gate.

If you like Petite Syrah, I suggest Concannon.

These provide a range of styles but are some of the best quality in Livermore Valley
