My girlfriend's parents are coming into town (they don't live that far away, so it's no special occasion) and when I mentioned having good Indonesian food, they seemed gung ho. My first thought was Jayakarta, but stumbling upon a mention of a restaurant that may or may not exist, my curiosity was snagged and I decided that we have to eat there, come hell or high water! Oh, and the dinner's tonight, so the hunt is on.

So here's the challenge: has anyone heard anything conclusive about the mamak-style restaurant Dilapan Rasa, seen it in person, or god willing, eaten there? Here's the post that sent me on my quest:

I've tried all manner of google searches, county health inspection reports, yellow pages, etc. Any help, or should I give up? Thanks!

Are you thinking of Jakarta (no "y") on Balboa, I believed they closed. There's also Bamboo Village on Geary around Cook and Stanyan(?). I went there a long time ago (5-7 years?) with an Indonesian American friend. He gave it an enthusiastic rating. I thought it was good...but you know I have no idea how to compare it. Seemed liked ex-pat Indonesian students hung there, which I took as a plus.
