Bakesale Betty North Oakland

Roxie Jun 20, 2005 03:41 PM

Hi kids! I loved reading about Bakesale Betty and her new bakery on Chowhound. When I called information they gave me (510) 985-1213 but that phone just rings off the hook. No answering machine. Any other number that you know of would help as I would love to stop by but it's not in my immediate neighborhood. Thanks!

They are open for business, I was in there on Friday and got rhubarb/orange scones, apricot/almond scones, lemon bars and sticky toffee cake. Everything was delicious.

You can try their web site.

I don't think they are quite open for business at the Telegraph and 51st Street location.

I pass by there frequently and I'll try to report when they open.

They are actually open- I was in there on Saturday. Sticky date pudding with caramel sauce served as my birthday "pudding" this year- it was great. Also tried the banana bread and a ginger cookie, which was delicious.

They're still in their birthing throes, irregular hours, quickly running out of stuff. They were out of scones when I went at 10 am on Saturday, said they hadn't predicted how busy they'd be. I drove past yesterday, they were supposed to be open but weren't, probably exhausted from the Temescal Street Fair.

I bet they'll be open regular hours during the week this week, but that's only a guess.
