Urgent: spanish food in Berk/Sf

We are looking for some good spanish food to eat tonight- not tapas. are there any reccomedatitions? My boyfriend screwed up on VD and is trying to make it up to me. Thanks!

  1. Zarzuela, or Piperade (not strictly Spanish but might work!)

    1. There's not much Spanish food around here, and what there is is mostly tapas.

      Some places that have entrees:

      Cesar on Piedmont (Shattuck is tapas only), great food.

      Piperade, Spanish Basque rather than straight Spanish, great food.

      B44, Catalan rather than straight Spanish, some great dishes: xato, mushrooms a la plancha, arros negra (my favorite), romescada, baccala amb samfaina, and rabbit.

      Patio Español (aka Spanish Cultural Center), very Spanish, but the food's not great.

      1. I also love the arroz negro at B44,the room is large and industrial,can be loud and is quite lively(like Spain!).You can't go wrong with Cesar's.I do not like Patio Espanol's main courses.

        1. B44! The fideau negra (noodle paella) is simply wonderful.
