Sour Cream Frosting-Will it keep at rm temp?

iLoveFood Feb 16, 2007 08:36 AM

This is a follow up to a making chocolate cake in advance. The frosting I am using is a chocolate frosting w/ sour cream...will this keep at rm temp? I've already made it and need to know if I need to store it in the fridge. If I do I assume I need to bring it back to rm temp for frosting, is that correct?

Thank you in advance.

Depends on how long you want to store it before you frost the cake. If you're just talking a couple of hours, it should be fine. If it's overnight, I would refrigerate it and take it out about an hour before you are ready to use it.
