Looking for romantic spot in Westlake Vill/TO

  • 8

Any suggestions on a nice, quiet, but not grossly over-priced place in the Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks area? Fairly impartial on food type, we're just looking for something unique and good in the area.

  1. We like two spots, one in WL and one in Agoura:

    Mandevilla Restaurant
    (805) 497-8482

We always sit out on the (enclosed) patio. Food is good, not great, but very edible and not at sky high prices. Martini's are a little skimpy ($9.00 - $9.50) but well exeucted.

    Cafe 14
30315 Canwood Street, Agoura Hills, CA 91301
    (818) 991-9560

Again we like the patio, less crowded and quieter. Good good and nice presentations. Have always received good and friendly service. Owner chef.

    1. Leilas in Agoura area is excellent -- fairly close to Westlake/TO. Food was wonderful and prices not sky high for the excellent quality. Don't have the address, but I'm sure it's on google.

Mandevilla is also a good choice!

I agree that Leila's is a good suggestion!
It is in the Oak Park Center (I'm not sure of the official name) at the northeast corner of Kanan and Lindero Canyon. If you exit the 101 at Lindero Canyon and proceed North about 4 miles, you will just cross Kanan Blvd. (an intersection with a traffic light) and then make the first right into that mini-mall. It is tucked in the furthest corner. I do suggest reservations.

      2. The Westlake Village Inn just did a huge overhaul on Le CAfe, now called Mediterraneo. Very beautiful ambiance. I haven't eaten there yet, but the Exec Chef is good friend of mine and he is very talented.

        1. Bellavino (ask for the patio): best food around!
Cafe Provecal: romantic in a kitschy way. I go for every birthday.
Galletto's: try the off the menu mushroom risotto appetizer!

          1. Boccaccios on the lake in Westlake is fairly romantic at sunset.

            1. Regarding Meditteraneo, I've been and the food was quite good. Certainly beautiful decor and a very nice outdoor patio overlooking a small lake.

Zin Bistro in the Landing is right on Westlake Lake is another beautiful spot with a great patio. Food is good and generally interesting.

And even though it's a small chain, Alessio on T.O. Blvd. is a very nice place with fine Italian fare.

And the Alessio space is really nice, doubling as a nice lounge. Deep woods everywhere, lots of vased flowers, piano, etc. If they have the osso bucco special, get it, and they actually have pretty good ravioli di zucca.
