I had a great glass of PN yesterday. On the bottle it read, "Consensus 100% Pinot Noir". Does anyone know this wine and who the producer is?

Maison Nicolas markets a line of wines (Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, a red blend), mostly if not exclusively from the Languedoc, under the Consensus label. Don't know if they have a Consensus Pinot Noir but they might.

Sorry -- can't help. A Google search for "Consensus Pinot Noir" shows nothing with that name. Where do you live? Where did you have it? Can't you call the restaurant or retail store and ask them? (That's what I would do.)

The only thing I can think that it might possibly be is the Maison Nicolas Coteaux du Languedoc, but that would just be a guess.

That's likely the producer, but I think a pinot noir would have to be a Vin de Pays.

New and so far unpublicized, maybe. Pinot noir, the red grape of Burgundy, would be a natural if they were already having good luck with chardonnay, the white grape of Burgundy.

No that's not it. Although I found out it is from Beziers in Languedoc. I have talked to someone at the restaurant who didn't know much but could read that on the bottle. The bottle I saw didn't have a paper label, but rather printed on the glass the name Consensus....100% Pinot Noir. I will get to the bottom of this. It was wonderful wine.
