Cajun Boudin

Does anyone know where to get some reasonably authentic Cajun (not French) Boudin in Philly? I'm on a quest to find/taste some. Any help would be appreciated!

  1. If you can get a 10 lb order together, here is a mailorder source. I'm pretty sure this is what New Orleans Restaurants use. I would be surprised if you could get this quality here but I would be interested to find out. (I would imagine, like Andouille, that you could find a locally made imitation....and some are better than others).

Thanks, I'll definitely check into that source.

Just found out DeAngelo brothers in South Philly makes it. I don't know how it compares to the louisiana made stuff though.

I grew up in South Mississippi and hung out in New Orleans, I can say with out a doubt, most restaurants that I've been too have always made their own Boudin. I would check with some of the restaurants down there, (look up canal street, New Orleans on Google maps it will show a few in that area) and call and ask if they can send some your way. Most Southern People are really nice and don't mind doing things out of the ordinary to help some one.

        2. This is where I order it from. Great service and the boudin tastes just as good as the stuff I've eaten all over Southwest (Cajun) Louisiana.
