Wonderful Wine Bar or Small Plate Eatery with Wine?

Devi Feb 15, 2007 08:30 AM

Hi, I'm looking for a truly great, laid back, not super high-end, wine bar for tomorrow night. It can be anywhere in the Manhattan, and finger food or small plates would be great too. Also, if not a 'wine bar', how's about a small plate restaurant that has a good wine list?! Any help greatly appreciated.

I love Bar Veloce (Chelsea, near 22nd and 7th or 8th Avenue). Small plates were very tasty, along with good wine.

Uva, in the upper east side is a good, cozy wine bar that serves food.

i love bin 71 on uws. 71st and columbus . if you are willing to go to uws. some are reluctant for some reason. it is not only my neighborhood bar, but a place that people have found from all hoods. the food is fresh and very good. the owner is a swell guy as well.

Trio, on 33rd between 3rd&Lexington, has really great tapas, as well as interesting selection of wines from Croatia.

I concur, Blue Ribbon Bar is a great new place serving wine flights in various portions. Like I had a flight of sparkling wine 3 x 3 oz. for 12 bucks! It's a pretty small place though but, you can always move on to Blue Ribbon Bakery across the street if you need more food or space!
