Especially on Mardi Gras itself, it can be tough to find a place that's open and not completely slammed. I've always had good luck with hotel restaurants, since they are contracted to be open. We went to Rene Bistrot one year (I heard it was closing, but it's still there, is it not?). Other hotel restaurants would be Adelaide's (Lowe's hotel) or La Cote Brasserie (Ren Arts hotel).
