Old threads don't float up in MY CHOW when they get new replies

Looking for the easiest way to locate a thread, I did a search for "grocerytrekker Malaysian roti bread" but nothing came up. I did a Google search to locate it.

When I started reading the thread, I noticed that it was collapsed, meaning there were new replies since I saw it last. And there were a few.

I've been wondering about the threads older than what MY CHOW page contains. Shouldn't they float up to the very top? I used to get email notifications, but come to think of it, I haven't gotten them lately. Sure enough, I located several more threads I wasn't aware of updates.

etc.

Is this normal?
Is there an easy way to read new replies?

"My Recent Posts" that is. Can anyone suggest a temporary solution to this until the team finishes fixing the problems? I may never see new replies to older threads ever again.

It's weird, because a thread that orginally was started in December, I posted to yesterday, and it came up in My Chow. But, a thread that *I* started in February that has new replies as of today didn't come up in My Chow. So, it seems to be inconsistently working. I'm not sure what is going on.

Threads that you start don't go into My Chow, unless you respond to them. And the order they appear in on My Chow is based on the date of the thread starter ( I think). I wish it worked differently but at least it tracks SOME activity on my older threads. We didn't have ANY way to track those threads in the past, so it's progress.

But, then there are some threads with responses that never float up, so what's the deal there? Is it before the big changeover?

Hmm, well evidently either I have no clue what I'm talking about or there's been a change, because I would SWEAR that threads I had started in the past haven't gone into my CHOW but today the ones I started did. Never mind...

I do have at least one thread that I started, to which I have not responded, that is showing up in My Chow. And on my My Posts, it appears that the order is based on the most recently updated thread, not the original start date of the thread. What seems oddest to me is that this would be working differently for different folks.

Just as a for instance, I started this thread: Your "go to" restaurant in KC http://www.chowhound.com/topics/374217 on Feb. 23, and I have responded to it (today, in fact) and other people have responded (today and other days) and it is not on My Chow page.

I believe that the basic situation is that My Chow includes the 60 most recently started threads that you've replied to, sorted in order of the most recent reply to the threads. So once a thread falls off the bottom of the list based on its start date, new posts to it won't bring it back into the list.

So, if *I* reply to a post that is not included in the 60 most recently started threads, it will bring it back up? Because I replied to a thread started in December, and it is on My Chow page.
